Hello!

I’m Samantha, the owner of Styled for Elegance. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 2012. Over the years, I’ve transitioned from working in a full-service salon to specializing in bridal hairstyling and, more recently, exploring airbrush makeup. I’ve received training from top industry professionals, including traveling to NYC for classes. I also did a stint working for DryBar to diversify my skills with all types of hair textures.

When I’m not working a wedding, you can find me working part-time at Fluvanna Meals on Wheels as their Client Coordinator. I believe in supporting and being involved in my community and FMOW is my way of fulfilling that.

I grew up in Illinois, but had bigger dreams outside of living there. When I met my husband 9 years ago, I was living in South Carolina, he in Georgia serving in the Marine Corps. Over the years, we’ve moved from GA to NC to NOVA. We finally settled in my husband’s hometown in Central Virginia, to be closer to family and find our “forever home”. With the many moves, I gathered a well rounded knowledge of different climates and cultural differences when it comes to hairstyling for weddings and other special occasions.

On my downtime, you can find me spending time in my garden, traveling with my husband and in the summer, boating and floating on Lake Monticello.
